About Your Educators
Tyler Rodrigues PGCE, BScHons
Tyler is an experienced Physical Science educator and textbook author with nearly two decades of teaching and curriculum leadership behind him. He holds an Honours degree in Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a PGCE qualification.
He is the Head of Science at Maris Stella (IEB), a long-standing IEB Physical Science marker, and served as an IEB National Subject Forum representative from 2016 to 2018.
Tyler is the Further Studies Physics educator at Advantage Learn and the author of the Neo Series Physical Science textbooks, as well as a national Advanced Programme Physics textbook and workbook. His teaching is clear, rigorous, and trusted by schools across South Africa.
Cornelia Weber, BSC
Conny is a passionate Physical Science educator and content specialist with a strong academic background in Physics and Chemistry, graduating with distinction from the University of Pretoria.
Since 2016, she’s been tutoring learners across the IEB, DBE, and IGCSE curricula, and joined Advantage Learn as an NBT Educator and Science Learning Designer in 2020. Her deep understanding of science education is matched by her ability to make complex ideas simple and engaging.
Conny is also the author of the Neo Series Grade 8 Natural Science textbook, bringing high-quality, curriculum-aligned resources to classrooms across South Africa.

The teacher for the Physics workshop was great but the work load was to much for those 6 hours and he did have to rush to finish. The teacher for the chemistry was very good and managed her time very well so she was great.

It honestly was the best thing. I ended up having the worst trials time table resulting in having no time to study for maths until the night before (however I had already gone on my advantage learn course ) This was all I needed, I only had to to do was one past paper and just read through my notes in preparation for my exam. The courses are so extensive and well structured that everything you need to know and extension is covered - making maths really easy and enjoyable ! I have no idea what I would do without them. Furthermore having maths online is a huge help ( supplementary to the course ) because if there is anything I am slightly stuck or unsure of - it is quickly clear led up and sorted out with a quickly video.
